Bose soundsystem

hi all.

I originally had a audi chorus radio in my car. but now i bougt a audi navi plus and i also bought the bose soundsystem. But now i went to my garage and they say to me that i can't place the bose soundsystem. they say that i have a passive system. The radio was no problem to install. The amplefier from the bose system needs a cable to cennect ect. Does anyone know if this is possible and is there no solution to this????? because i think the garage doesn't want to place it because it's to much work.

i guess you are right, your garage are lazy ones ;-)

everything is possible, if you want to connect the amplifier of the new system, they have to take the signal from the passive system and let it run through a hi-lo-level converter, so they get a chinch signal, which they need to get the impuls into a amp.
maybe bose for audi has a hi-level in, too, so they can take the signal direct from the radio.

I live in the neightbourhood of Aachen. it's against the border.
But do you think they will place the system?

of course it is too much work, so i wonder why you want to replace a completely new cabel assembly for the bose-system, when you can get better after-market radios which can be adappted propperly to your old speaker-system without any problems and less work than a bose-replacement...?? i got the same in my car (TT 8N), a passive system and a good after-market headunit: OEM stuff out, new headunit comes in and there it goes... :-)

You have the same problem like me.
I want to save my Audi Navi nd the Bose soundsystem. But the bass is not enough!

When ive known that before, i havent bought the BOSE Soundsystem....

wieso kein bose mehr? mach´s doch wie henry: zum bose einfach ´nen
kleinen amp und 2 subs... druck ohne ende und immer noch geilen klang...

Ich werd im Winter, bzw. im Frühjahr definitiv etwas machen. Die Frage ist nur, funktioniert es, wenn ich nur Subs dazu baue? Ich denke dann wird der Rest zu schwach... :-(

Wer war doch gleich der erste 8J der hier seinen Magmaroten Umbau vorgestellt hat?
WOher kommt er? Ich würd gern mal Probehören...

Bis jetzt plane ich, entgegen meienr bisherigen Planung und entgegen jeglicher Vernunft, einen U-förmigen Heckausbau mit einer kleinen Servieklappe.

2 Subs und ein bisschen Amps. Wenn ich nur wüsste ob die Speaker dann immer noch ausreichen...?

Bin am überlegen, evtl. "Emphaser" Subs zu verbauen. War damals in meinem A4 eigentlich zufrieden damit. Mit den Hifonics die ich danach hatte, konnte EMPhaser auf jeden mithalten...

hör mal henry`s sytem probe, dann weißt du daß das noch paßt mit dem orig. bose-system ;-).
